Ara G. Tilkian, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Tilkian graduated from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, with distinction. He continued his medical education at the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Chicago and received his M.D. degree with honors. Postgraduate training included 5 years at Stanford University Medical Center where he completed his cardiology training.

He moved to Los Angeles in 1975 and has been an active member of Cardiovascular Consultants Medical Group since then. Dr. Tilkian was, for thirty-five years, the Medical Director of Cardiology at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, California, where he developed the cardiovascular program. He has authored numerous articles and 2 cardiology text books. He has special interest in Acute Stress Induced Heart Disease and the exciting field of extending human longevity. He has presented his observations and findings at 2 recent international medical meetings. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Tilkian is passionate about engaging patients in their own care. He has been a pioneer in teaching patients how to actively participate in and improve their care. Dr. Tilkian has always been interested in the History of Medicine. He is working on a book that explores what doctors have been doing for the past 4000 years and what their dress code was!
